This day sux

This afternoon I got a text from my next door neighbor saying that something bad had happened at another neighbor's house. Women's screams followed by an ambulance. I called another neighbor to see if he knew what was going on. My neighbor had a large wooden storage building delivered and he and his son in law had moved it to the back yard and were setting it up. Butch crawled under it to get a jack out and it fell and crushed his head and he died instantly. I called a friend who knew my neighbor's daughter and she informed me that a 19 year old girl that I knew had just been killed in a car accident. She was texting and rolled her car and was ejected from the vehicle because she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. Butch was a really nice guy and Skylar was funny girl and very talented photographer with her whole life ahead of her. People please be careful whatever you are doing.

Dang, that sucks. As I have gotten older I try to quit taking chances while doing things. Even wear my seat belt on slopes with the old John Deere while bush hogging. Things can happen in seconds if you are not careful.

Two tragedies in one day, both avoidable. I feel terrible for family and friends. As has been said before, we need to think about what we're doing before we do it. "What if?" is a really smart question to ask myself.

Life is fragile and short while we are here. Sad when it is cut so short so quickly when they were just getting started!
