You have to do a Proxy bid and then its by cell phone but the guy said this ranch doesnt have cell coverage. They dont know anything about it either. Kind of a weird way to do an auction. They should do it on the internet!

O.K. Mainer, I will step aside on this one. However, bear in mind that if one as nice looking as this becomes available anywhere close to me (Co.) I'm gonna go after it.

OK. You made me think out of the box... well, you and Snowcat Ops just planted a seed in my head with one of Snow Ops's 'momentary' avatar (you had to be there).

You guys have certainly seen the 'Snowcat Compilation' video on youtube.
If I were to 'win' the cat and also get agreement from each of those key stakeholders that they would hold back on bidding, then I would be willing to provide a video, not on youtube, that would be unparalleled for all snowcat videos...of course I like it because it would promote the 601. I would be willing to pull in the right 'talented' resource to do a walk-through of the cat in appropriate attire (net weight from 0 to 1 oz) to satisfy our needs. Brass pole would have to be an add-on to the interior of the cat to maximize effectiveness of the skills associated with the resource under consideration.

How would that be for putting something in front of your eyes... that is sufficiently tempting to hold off from bidding for an old piece of 1966 junk... an uparalleled historical snowcat documentary video? :coolshade

AkDadio, Lyndon, Mkntrakes, Mradecky, Mtncrawler, Nutsster, SnowcatPat, Socal4T12, Thiokol2Track, Weatherby, YellowPineOTS ??? You guys are all hard core collectors that may take an interest... I'm sure there are more but that's a short-list.

Other East coasters besides myself are more sane than I...wouldn't ship a machine that costs that much to ship given it's weight. On the other hand, West coasters with nice powder shouldn't even want this thing unless they're traveling on non-powder trails or powder that was previously packed.

The other forum big-wigs are interested in other cats... and it's not as though the list above means they like 601's...because many don't, but it's a short-list of people that luv to collect old steel and aluminum.

Who else out there willing to fess up?

To be real though, I'm not going to bid some ridiculous sum of cash so there is risk of me not getting it:toilet: , even with y'all's support. I have no idea what someone may want to spend... I honestly can't imagine much and I'm even 'their greatest fan!'.

Either way, I'll give it my best shot and see how it goes!

Now let me see... online brass pole shopping... to keep it period I want to use period brass that is better quality than today's... I want to powder coat it with clear to preserve it and then.... :boobies:

The 601 is a neat snow cat but not a driver for me. I hope you can tie it up and put a show on for the rest of us.....:thumb:

But, as fickle as SnoOps is, I would be watching my backside if I were you. He likes to change horses and snow cat models in mid stream.:yum:
