Hey guys!
Just thought we'd all get a kick out of watching who gonna buy the piglet!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...arms=tab=Watching&item=120396611827&viewitem=

Let the oinker go to some high bidder! LOL.

No, I ain't gonna buy her! It's so sad to see some unlucky, unsuspecting person buy this thing but such is life... shows buying kitties on eBay can be dangerous... we all know it's fine sometimes...but then... there's the piglet!

Sooooo--weeeee! :w00t2::w00t2::w00t2: :ermm:

You guys all saw the info I gave on this a few weeks ago...

http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/showthread.php?t=24656&referrerid=781

ps...the reason I'm posting this is that I hope the potential eBay buyers do a search, find this, etc... sad.

thanks for the heads up ive been looking for my first resto project and saw this one maybe a bit much to take on.

Mainer know when it comes to 6 series Thiokol snow cats..........
BEWARE......the pig in a pokey new color costume............:whistling:

Why 'pig'?

It's at $3,550 presently. Is there something bad about this model, or this particular Thiokol?

This is a great model of Thiokol...yea, it's a dual shaft rig with a power divider instead of a nice diff... but it's still a great model....

This is an example of 'seller gone wild'.
First off, it was purchased for $1,500. The one good thing it has going for it is that it has new rubber...the cost of that rubber is about $450. The backer plates were not replaced, grousers are still mangled (the original had grousers and backers that extended beyond the rubber so many hit objects and hence backers and grousers are mangled).

Anyway, the guy had his pavement crew steam clean the rig and then spray the rig... over grease, dirt, fabric, tape, etc... there's still tape and gunk all over and the paint is flaking off.

The exhaust leaks into the cabin, etc...

See the list of stuff...

The reason I'm passionate about this is that he's screwed up a perfectly good piece of raw material that represents a great piece of history. Now he wants to flip it for coin. Just infuriates me. Then he talks about how it's in great condition...when some who test drove it couldn't even get it past first gear because clutch/brake are locked together. Granted, he's probably going through and fixing things after realizing people won't buy something that won't shift :ermm::w00t2: go figure! But multiply that by all the things that could be... and is that a $6K? $8K? $10K $12K cat?

I'd love to have it... but it's a $3-4K cat max. It depends on a person too... if someone doesn't mind crap work... then it may be fine just to get around. But most people that will pay what this guy wants to recover want to see more... or they dont' know... that's why it never sold on craigs list and he's now got it on ebay after a couple of months.

Someone...I hope on the forum... will be there to get it when it doesn't sell... and that's great... I won't cuz I just don't like the notion of the guy... but someone shoudl get it for a few K but someone will probably score it off ebay that simply doesn't know....$5K? $7K? who knows. Let's see how it goes.

I was told this thing was in "GREAT" shape. YAH RIGHT! So did anyone here drive it?........

Oh ops.... sniff.
He *was* selling it for $12K with the malfunction... he fixed it because deals were falling through... what does that mean about him? If problems are discovered?
Maybe he will work through fixing all the crap... then is it worth buying it? ;)
What did you think dlmorindds? Were you able to go through all four of the gears?
I'm glad to be proven wrong...

the pig is up to $5,600 on eBay! See the description, all the lights work inside and out! Woohoo!
Oh, and the reason why you'll never see the passenger side is cuz the door has a bit of a buckle/bend in it like it was crunched against a tree or something.

Look at that! He's up another 100!
I mean, if you strip all the crap paint his boys blasted on/over the grease and if you double down on the armor all throw on some turtle wax on those wheels and take off all the duct tape and replace with proper stick and heat... ya know, ain't bad. ;)
Did I mention that not one gauge works?
ROFL
Unbelievable gall. But the lights work! Wooohooo! And she be orange!

Mainer, seems like you're going through a lot of song and dance to keep the price of this machine low. Help me here... did I see this method used when Mtntopper bought the Oh So Orange LMC 1200?

Yea, I know... I thought it would appear that way... and I am... why?
Because I hope he doesn't milk someone. I hope it doesn't hit reserve....but if it does that he doesn't make any money on it given he hosed a perfectly good machine. It won't pay to buy this thing up and then do a total restore. So, it's going to exist as it is for years to come...paint flaking off and looking gross up close.

I see it didn't sell, wonder if he'll relist? It's not cheap to list something that expensive on ebay, even if it doesn't sell you still have a big listing fee......... ~Karin~

Piglet for the taking ... :whistling:
Guaranteed to chip, strip gears, die, bottom-out, de-track, over-heat, but that light bar gonna keep on spinnin' ! Oooo-weee! Soooo-weeee!

Did I mention the fresh paint? and the paint? And even that paint over grease, dirt, and tape? :glare: Remember folks... before that paint when on her...she was $1,500... go on and add in that light bar...some of that rubber on there ... and a whole lotta glue... you gotcher-self a winner.

Mainer, don't forget to mention that the front seats are simply sitting on the floor and not secured in any way.
