Thinking about getting a cat.

Do any of you have one of the following breeds?
Devon Rex
Cornish Rex
Turkish Van
I am considering the ‘rexes’ because they are supposed to be low shedders. The ‘vans’ on the other hand have a really cool religious story behind them; and instead of calling it by saying here kitty kitty kitty I could say here Alalalalah. Are there any others that deserve my consideration?
;)

All cats shed, except for the hairless ones, but they are butt ugly to start with. If it is an allergy thing, then forget the shedding, because that is not what causes the allergy problems. It is the dander, and all cats have dander, except for the hairless ones... If that is the case, see sentence one.

An "American Shorthair" or "Barn Cat - Typical" --the mutt of the cat breeds.

You can find the best examples at the humane society or the local farmer trying to sell them for "Free or best offer."

Cats should be had in pairs (preferably littermates) so they have playmates and don't keep you awake all night (1st hand experience:pat: ).

Spaying or neutering is also recomended.

Pussies too.....:burp:

Not allergic, just don’t want to hear about it from momma! She gives me endless hell over the pets I already have.

That does not always work either. In our case we had two nocturnal fuzz balls raising hell all night. They grow out of it in about 6 months whether single or paired, usually.

If you are going to get two cats eventually, go ahead and get two now. It always pisses the existing cat off when you bring a new kitten home, especially two males. The older cat tends not to see the cuteness or humor in the newby.

Try Craigslist........or like suggested above, go to the animal shelter. The best kitty's are rescued heinz57 kitty's.
