I haven't split wood in a long, long time and to be honest, I don't miss it in the slightest. I do like the tire idea though. I'll file it away with the hope that I never have to use it.

By the way, my grandfather taught me to cut and split wood before chainsaws, all done with a saw and a couple of axes. On the big stuff he split with a sledge and steel and wooden wedges. Frikkin' HARD work.

No shit, hard work. Can you imagine our forefathers settling Amerika with a buck saw and an ax? Cutting the logs and timbers for a cabin/house; splitting logs for heat; tilling the land with a mule; all the while finding the time and the strength to hunt and gather enough to feed the animals and put food on the table. Or starve. Or freeze.

And then we complain about working too hard.

I'm sorry to disagree with you Kane, but Americans do work hard. Those that are working. We work more hours than every before, spend more time getting to work than ever before and give too much of the fruit of our labor to the Gubmint so they can disperse it to those who can't or won't.
Before, one had, at the very least, a choice. Iwould loveto stay atte ranch, spend agood part of myday working to stay warm, fed and alive,AT MT OWN PACE AND CHOOSING, than having to work so I can keep and use what I built with my own labor and my own two hands.
Then sit on my porch, or hearth, and take a well earned break.

Gotta go, my cell is ringing with a customer on the phone.
BTW the tire idea will get a mall bouncing back at your head.:w00t2: Careful there.:whistling:

Butterfly paper clip on toothpaste tube.

That's a good idea! I'm meticulous about rolling from the bottom to let my wife come along to just squeeze the tube like she's grabbing a baseball bat. Might serve as a training tool .............
