I've always wondered how much skill and seat of the pants flying it takes for those fire tanker pilots that load on the fly off a lake surface. How many hundred or thousand lbs/ sec are they gaining?
Yes, the Hercy Bird is very versatile and tough. The places they landed and took off from in Nam was amazing.
