The good the bad and the ugly

As many know here I have been going through a divorce. It became final the last week of April. Back in February I signed a contract on a house with closing pending on the divorce date. The seller let me go ahead and move in and just pay him rent. He said he understood the situation. From the day I moved in he commenced to pester the shit out of me about when I would close. It just made me want to drag my feet, but I haven't. In fact I probably compromised on the divorce more than I would have if it hadn't been for the house. About 2 months ago I was processed for a possible deployment to Afghanistan next year. A month later I got orders reassigning me to that unit so it looks like I'll be going. Just found out this morning that most of June and half of July will be spent at Ft Leonard Wood Missouri. Embrace the suck!!!

One thing at a time, Brents. At least your divorce is over.:thumb:

Are you still gonna buy the house, or continue to rent until deployed?

Good luck with it all Brents. I hope it all works out for the better for you.
Did you buy the house yet?

Keep your head down and forge ahead Brents. In time this will all pass and you will be able to forget about it. Stay single, don't let any women move into your house (no matter how hot they are). Work as hard as you can for at least five years then you can sit back and decide on what you really want to do.

I,ll just echo what everyone else has said Tractors4u & wish things turn around for you & by all means stay safe & dont let anything or anybody get to you . Thoughts & prayers sent your way & Thankyou for your service & best of luck .

Good luck! Take care of yourself over there, and remember, we are all proud of you! All of you!

Hang tough Brent. Things will improve with time. Live to enjoy today. Thank you for your service and stay safe.:flagusa:

Seems like the crappy parts of life always come at once.

As PB related: go with it, know that you'll be happy again and that one day all of this will be behind you.
Right now you, the house, your kids, the reassignment and your impending deployment are all that should matter to you.
The divorce is now a thing of the past and you WILL make a new start with your feet firmly planted on the ground.
Don't allow anything to get in the way of your happiness from now on.
Big warm hugs. I'll be thinking about you Brents.

good luck Brents -- my brother closed on his house 10/29 and shipped out 11/1, so I can sympathize. At least he has a friend who could house-sit while he's gone.

OK, I have been through this many (at least a couple) of times. The first thing to do to get over a divorce is to go south, as far as you reasonalby can. Find a very large trailer park. Find a bar close to the trailer park (that way you dont have to worry about the age thing). Now here is the important thing, you have to balance looks to trashy. You want just the right balance of each. Tatoo and tooth count are important too, humm maybe inversley porportional. Remember good looks and a little on the trashy side.

Seriously, it will pass. Hang in there.

While we have had our disagreements, I appreciate that advice. Rep points coming your way for that one.

Brents,

Hang in there, brother! Keep your head down and your rifle up. While it sounds weird, having strangers shoot at you and miss gives you a whole new outlook on life.

Know that you'll be in our thoughts and prayers.
