Test for me please!

A) It played automatically, no hassles at all!
B) It played smoothly with no glitches, freezes, etc. Fractional T1

C) Adelphia cable connection

I'm using a laptop and the image could be a little larger.

Audio played fine...video would distort intermittantly throughout. I'm not sure if it's a camera focus issue or if it's in the transmission itself. It did appear to occur as the camera moved which would indicate an auto focus issue.

Cable connection

I had to do a quick download first, but that option automatically popped up. It downloaded quickly (seconds) and video played without any problems.

Cable connection

Your seeing the results of heavy compression. It helps keep down the size of the videos so that its viewable over slower connections. Does anyone use dial-up any more :-).

Oh, aye, got her workin now

Plays easily
kept stopping, buffering and then playing a few seconds, buffering etc
Slow Broadband connection

Just those PIA customers that complain a lot and buy just enough stuff to keep you from wanting to tell them to F off. :smileywac

A - does the video play for you without too many headaches
B - does it play smoothly and what kind of connection do you have
Starts immediately, plays smoothly except goes slightly grainy a couple of times. I think the technical quality is ok for what you are trying to do. 1.5mb DSL here.

However: As an informational video, he's too hard to understand. Not much information is conveyed. With such a small picture you should have the camera right in his face and pan to whatever he is pointing to.

Neil ... it played fine. However, the camera man (you?) should be completely sober before the shooting.

Looked like it was being filmed in 6 foot seas! :yum:

DSL here ... took about 20 seconds to load and off she went. I think it will serve its purpose for Broadband customers.

Hope this helps.

( Sorry for the running critique - and the speaker subject in the film is very uncomfortable - see if he can relax a bit) :pat:

Loaded immediately, played immediately, no glitches, hitches or hesitations. I was trying to read the comments next to the video at the same time, and I couldn;t concentrate on either one. When you set it up for real, you should spend a bit of time introducing the video and telling us (in text) what he's going to say, then it will be easier to understand. The intro should hit the highlights, and the video should fill in the gaps and make it more interesting and compelling.

A) Video plays fine. Wish the quality were a bit better. Audio seemed kind of hard to understand.

B) My connection is a 300KB/sec DSL connection. No hiccups.

A: Video starts and plays well. Audio hard to understand, esp with my hearing.

B: Cable-750 KBPS

I would recommend using a tripod for the video camera.

That is not one of the better video clips, some of the other ones I have are with a tri-pod. This really was just a quick mock-up to see if it works well enough.

Good suggetion on the write of what the subject is before the talking begins.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Neil,

I'm out at the ranch now with 300k DSL and Win98SE. I saw different results than my town comments, above.

With the latest Firefox it took 15 seconds to load the page. Then Firefox's Adblock tag appeared in place of the vid. I Whitelisted your entire site but the same result.
(I have Flash installed in this Firefox and use it all the time for animated weather satellite views.)

I tried old Netscape 4.8. Similar result except the video area was all blank with no explanation.

Tried your vid with IE (which I never use) version 6.0. Thirty seconds to load the page, then 30 seconds more with the video area blank before 'would you like to download macromedia flash player?' appeared. I gave up at that point.

On this tiny laptop screen (800 x 600) the vid area is large, 40% of the width of the screen and 60% of the height. On my 21" monitor in town the vid was uncomfortably tiny.

Hope this report helps you to present a stunning site!

Under the heading "Technical F.A.Q." What struck me as odd is that you don't identify which articles are "video" and which are words.

But it sure looks good!

Yea, I need to sort a few things out still. I have more text articles to post and I want to arrange this stuff into a format where things are easy to find. It took me about a day to get all those done and I wanted to get them online.
