SW48 engine tick

Im hearing a ticking inside the ford 300 engine in a 1977 SW48 im looking at buying. Only hear it after the oil heats up ... could this mean trouble ahead? and are these engines known to have problems like this as they age?
(cam or crank issue, piston?)

It seems to emanate lower down than the head. No oil leakage.

It could just mean change the oil. or valve adjustment. 300 fords are pretty bullet proof.

The tick would be heard up towards head if it were valves I think.
cam, lifters, and timing chain are down low in the block, ive heard many clapped out 300's that i thought were not long for this world in ford service trucks and they just keep going. if its valvetrain some good oil containing zinc wont hurt , marvel mystery oil or seafoam sometimes works for cleaning a dirty lifter, low oil pressure can also cause a (hot tick) especially on old worn lifters, if you like the machine just buy it ...... ive bought many things w bad motors because the good of the vehicle far outweighed the cost of a motor and a 300 is cheap;)
