Surgery

Hello,

How is everyone? I haven't been on the fourm for awhile, so I have no idea how everyone is.

Anyhow I just though I would give all of you guys an update. Last Friday, I had Lasik surgery. I have had contacts for about 18 yrs., so it is so amazing waking up and being able to see the alarm clock.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I had deviated septum surgery. So right now I am pretty high from the painkillers. So far recovery is going well, but It looks like I will be out of work until April 13, 2009. At least my work has short term disability, so I will get paid for the time I'm out of work.

Has anyone had Lasik surgery? I was one of the dumb tough people who declined the relaxing pill. The surgery was quite disturbing. I think the smell of your eye burning was the worst part.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and I hope everyone is doing well.

Take care,
Arica

I had one of my eyes done about 10 years ago. Have to say it was the best thing I ever did. But it was expensive back then and now both of my eyes are having problems. I may have to get glasses for one eye to see distance and one eye for reading. The one they did I was told would always be good for seeing distance but would need reading glasses some day which is now here. You will love it.

As for your other surgery. I wish you the best and a speedy recovery. And we did miss you.

CG.....Glad you stopped in. Seems like you're gonna be a whole new person! Well, you go girl. Best part is you'll be able to get that trophy elk at 500 yards now with out having to worry about adjusting your glasses...:flowers:

why are you going to miss 6 weeks of work?
I thought the lasik stuff was only a 2-3 day break?

as to the nose - congrats!
i know you were worried about that - you'll be amazed at how different you sound to yourself in a couple of days when the internal swelling goes down.

good luck and good to hear from you!

I really hope so. so far my left eye is taking it's time healing. I only have 20/30 in it at this time. The doctor said there is still swelling on the eye so that may be the problem, if not I might have to have a touch up done on it.

I am missing 6 weeks of work because of my nose surgery. I have so many limitations from the doctor that I can not go back to work until he fully releases me. I don't want to sit in the police dept. records division, so I would rather just stay home until I am fully released.

The pain wasn't so bad yesterday, but this morning at about 2:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. I spent puking. My entire upper body from the waste to my neck just aches, and I have the worst sore throat ever. My face looks like someone hit me with a 2x4.

Best wishes CG. Good to hear from you. Maybe we'll see more of you during your recovery. :thumb: We'll do our best to keep your mood up as you work through all this. :thumb: :D

no fun.
puking sucks.
I can definitely understand not wanting to sit in the records dept when you'll be able to go outside in a few days and enjoy the spring weather while it's happening.
keep up your spirits, visit here often - we'll make extra fun of Rback & Sushi just to keep you entertained.
