Last night I had to work in this town called Macky. I get out of my car and see this dog running around approaching everyone. From what I found out he has been in town all week and no one knows who he belongs to.He is very friendly and has been playing with the kids all week. He has been neutered, and no collar. Needless to say no one would take him in. Poor thing, his ribs are showing.
I decided if he was still out in the parking lot when it was time to leave I would take him home and try and find the owner. Hoping its a case where he got loose and not "dumped" .
He curled up in the back seat and slept all the way home. Which was about a 45 min drive. Found no ticks on him, and saw 1 flea.(put frontline plus on him before he came into the house)
He seems familiar with the inside of the house, cause he has already made himself at home on the couch and bed. He is very playful and so far gets along great with my dogs. I am guess 1-2 yrs by his teeth
My question, what do you think he looks like? Pit bull and lab? Runs like a greyhound He is a little bit bigger than my lab, his hair is short, but not course like a lab, and how long can dogs go without eating before their ribs show?

Clearly, he's 100% American Couch Potato.:yum:

Handsome dog. I don't think he has any Pit in him, though. That boxy skull reminds me of an American Bulldog, and given how he runs and your description of his size and coat, I'd say that's the likely breed mixed with Lab.

Looks like you got yourself a new dog. My dobies ribs show and he eats all the time, I always have dog food out. I like fat dogs but leave food out all the time and all but my old basset hound have been normal weight for the breed. So just feed him and dont worry about the ribs.

great news! Just came from the vet. He is micro chipped! His name is Odem and the owners are on the way to pick him up. Glad, but sad. He is a great dog!

I am glad it has a happy ending.

I have a rescue lab that is chiped. I often wonder if the record of ownership got changed to us when we registered him.

Ahh, good job Judy. :tiphat:   Without you he might have still be wandering around loose or even have been hit by a car.
Fine looking dog for sure. You made someone's day no doubt. Way to go!!!!!!

Looks like a white version of my Tug - a Pitador/Labrabull. Glad you found his owners. I'm sure if my yard wasn't fenced Tug would be all over the place. And Tug wouldn't be skinny as long as there was garbage or poop to eat.
