University students stage walkout over Jerry Seinfeld speech

Dozens of students walked out on Jerry Seinfeld at Duke University on Sunday as he was about to deliver the commencement speech.

Videos, posted on social media, showed students leaving the stadium in North Carolina to protest Israel’s war in Gaza as Duke president Vincent Price introduced the comedian.

Some students could be heard booing as they waved Palestinian flags while others cheered: “Jerry! Jerry!”

Seinfeld has publicly supported Israel following the 7 October Hamas attack, and traveled to a kibbutz in December to meet with hostages’ families. He has been “uncharacteristically vocal” about his support during press calls for his new film, Unfrosted, The New York Times reported.

The comedian, who was receiving an honorary degree from Duke, largely stayed away from the issue at the centre of the protests during his speech. At one point, he mentioned his Jewish heritage which was met with applause from the crowd.
 
I noticed that Virginia Commonwealth University had Gov Glenn Younkin as their Commencement speaker. A punch of pro-HAMAS rabble stood up and walked out, demanding the university divest from Israel, blah blah blah

Sorry, but again, actions have consequences. If they walk out they forfeit their diploma. 4 years wasted. It is their choice. Don't award it to them, expel them. It is really simple. This applies to all the 'encampment' people, to all the people who spray painted statues, buildings, benches, etc; to all the people who threatened other students, to all the people who violated school policies.
NOT EVERYTHING is political.

And TRYING to make things political just pisses people off, especially when there is damage, actual disruption, threats/acts of violence, etc. They are hurting their cause. But then again, they are idiots.
 
Good thing they didn't invite me to give a speech. Because it would be the same thing I'll tell you now.

"Hello graduates. WE'RE SCREWED. Your entire life has been a waste and it's about to end. And those of you unlucky enough to survive what's about to happen will be living in a dystopian hell.

My only recommendation is to get right with God, because you will be seeing Him or Satan soon enough.
