Storms have been all around us for weeks

Cowboy

Wait for it.
And the only thing we have got was wind lightning and hail , not a drop of rain . Were surrounded by them again right now and if we dont get some rain out of it I'm gonna be pissed cuz I dont see anyway this one can miss us . Were dead center just barely in the clear right now .

Feels good!,

Know where you are comming from for sure. It has been quite a while since we have been that dry up our way however. I tend to forget the normal years, but remember the very dry, and the very wet years. Glad you have rain, and hope you will see more soon.

Regards, Kirk

Thanks Kirk , I know theres a lot of folks that have way more then they ever wanted and my thoughts and prayers go out to each and everyone of them . But it sure is nice to have when its really needed .

Plus its now coming down really steady without the lightning or wind .

Thanks B , sorry to here about the damage there . We really got lucky on the hail this year so far , theres been two storms where they got the big hail like your talking about just south and west of us a bit but we only got quarter size . Its been a weird year for sure for everyone . You stay safe as well .

On yer AC units you mentioned, I'm surprised there were any to damage , I would have though the copper thieves allready had their way with them .

Ive only replaced 3 units this year..that were compleatly missing after the crackheads went through..My boss tryied to get me to put the disconnects inside the structure..i said no-way...they pulled the dis-connects and used the same bolt cutters ...they used on the line set to cut the electric service to unit..with it inside where they could not pull-it someome would get killed..And i was not going to be the installer of that..Most probably 1/2 have lost telivisions and comp...on the same power surges/ lightning strikes...I've changed out so many compassitors and contacts its not funny anymore..In the winter homeowners will get by..portable heaters and such...when its hot if they don't have air..they will go to a motel..:hammer:.. Everybody should have some back-up AIR..even if its a $100 unit from Martworld...B.

This is really getting rediculous . It was 102 at 11am this morning , there aint no cool time of the day . Next 10 days are going to be a repeat .

Sorry to hear you are so dry. It's hotter than hell here with high humidity, but I think we are on pace for an all time wettest year on record. I think we are something like 30" above normal for the year or something crazy like that. Basically, we have already had more rain than would be considered a wet year. We just got another 4" a couple days ago. I don't know how much longer I can keep up with caulk and duct tape with most of my roof damaged from a really bad storm nearly 2 months ago. I've found that roofers are the biggest liars in the construction business, hands down. I've been the general on many jobs and had to deal with no-shows and bad jobs, but industry comes close to roofers. The really bad reputation you hear about them....it's well deserved.

It's so bad that I gave up on contractors and thought I'd just have Lowes roof my house. They told me that they got rid of independent contractors and have their own roofing crews because the independent roofers gave them such a bad reputation for not showing up. Well, guess what; Lowes doesn't show up or call either! I think I can get a bit further sitting down with the store manager and asking why they can't bother to even call when they don't show up on a $25k roofing job. Yeah, that's the other thing; in the last two months roofing materials have shot up because of demand. I FUCKING tried to buy two months ago. Grrrrrr!

Damn that does suck on the roof situation Dargo , I hope you can get it resolved soon . Its the same way here as far as roofers I dont know of any company I would even trust to do ours and its getting perty much in need of being replaced .

I have done all the repairs I can myself and its at the point its in need of a complete tear of including resheeting . I keep holding of for a large hailstorm where insurance will at least help on the costs but I still have no clue of who I would trust to do it . Oh Yea it just hit 111 degrees here .

I hear ya cowboy - an hour ago the official temp was 101 and the heat index 118.
You must be more humid there Erik , I just checked again and the temp and heat index are the same here . Its back down to 110 though .

I guess it could be worse, all I know is its damn hard to even get a breath out there right now, and all I have been doing is moving sprinklers and watering our new trees which we have allready lost 3 this week .

Well that heat is slowly working east to us. 89 today and calling for 93 and muggy tomorrow. No rain for last 2 weeks to amount to anything. We have been hot and breezy so it is drying things out pretty bad. I am having to water the garden daily or it would really be hurting. Have to do some of the flower beds or they will be gone as well. It has been great for making hay and a lot of lower fields and meadows are able to be cut since it dried up. We need a good rain to bring the alfalfa back or it will burn out soon.
