i looked at that one back in march. from my estimation it needs about $8,000 to $9000 in parts and service, not including my time. the track belting is rough and patched in a couple places, many of the grousers are cracked, the rear end needs brake bands, it needs all new hoses, new belts on the motor, 2 windows, winshield wiper motor and arms, steel floor has been cracked and welded and cracked again, frame is bent from plowing, plow frame and front of frame have been cracked and bent, welded and cracked and bent again. sprockets will need to be replaced soon, tires are foam filled but weather checked. the date on the oil filter indicated that the oil filter had not been changed since 2004, it was leaking antifreeze from somewhere, i could not tell where. it had antifreeze hanging from the crank pulley, it needs a total service and tune up, valve cover gaskets were leaking, trans was seeping. one of the hydraulic lines exiting the front of the cab had no plug on it, blade was not attached and hadnt been for years so who knows what shape it is in, with a hydraulic line left open for years there is probably rust in the pump and possibly the entire system. it drove o.k. but when the left brake was applied it took lots of pressure with no result and then all of a sudden it would grab and lock up the track with a bang.
i offered the guy $6500 for it, but he says it is already sold. he told me he had it sold for $10,200 back in march, but then it showed up on craigslist again and again. it is exactly what i want but needs WAY too much work to be worth any where near what he is asking. if i had to pay someone to fix it up, i would end up with $20k in it before paint. it appears that they have been trying to sell it for a couple of years, the hour meter when i looked at it was 10 hours higher than the pictures, but he swore he hadnt run it this year, and i saw no indication in the snow that it had been moved in quite some time. it appears to me that there has been little if any maintenance on it in many years
other than that, it is perfect

Hi, do have a couple wide tracks, and one narrow track they are both B's and C's with OC-12 differentials, for sale they do need some work maybe call and my husband and he can tell you more about them, thanks my husbands name is Wes, 970-270-8771 I will try and get some pictures posted or we will e-mail some to you if you want to see them. we could possibly deliver depending on where you live.

looks like one i looked at earlier this year. now has new paint and been fixed up quite a bit. if it is the same one, it is HEAVY.

reasonable price depends on what it is. i have found ones that are in great shape but they want over $30k, i have found ones that have old style tracks, body damage, and havent run for years with asking prices of $8k!
i may spend up to $15 or $16k, but at that price it should be a good machine that doesnt need $1000's in work.

i have found quite a few cats. most are narrow track and 2 man cab. i really think i need a widetrack, and would really like a passenger cat. i will consider a 2 man with a blade depending on where it is and how much. i intend to go places very few if any other people go and therefore think a widetrack and a blade are a necessity. the passenger cabin would sure be nice for nights out, but i could always build one.

a few things to consider wide track machines were designed for us on ski slops where they were pulling an implement and need extra traction i have used a 1200 std track and have never had a issue getting to where i wanted to go and i have been all over Colorado up to 12000 ft another fact is wide track and std track have same running gear but my guess is a wide track weighs a couple thousand pounds more also the wide track will be slower as it takes hp for larger tracks,as for your price range 30000, for a machine that is ready to go doesn't seem bad as i have bought 15000, machines and had to put 30000, in it before i felt safe to take it in the back country
