Steering Brake "Feel"

I'm in the process of adjusting my steering brakes on my Bombardier SV200.
What should be the "feel" of the levers as I pull on them? Should they be similar to the brakes in a car in that they seem to hit a bottom? I've got my brakes set pretty close to closing and still the levers don't seem to resist very much when I pull them all the way back.
