ST4 Variator belt info

After shredding the old belt on my snow-trac I was searching for replacement and came across this document that explains the variator belt code 2926V646
- apparently it is 26 16th's of an inch wide (47mm), 26 degree angle on pulley, V for variable speed, and 646 tenths of an inch pitch length (1641mm). This is an american specification and not always easy to find in Europe, so using that info and data tables for Optibelt, the metric equivalent is 47x13x1600.
For some reason the metric belts are classified by their inside length, but you can easily calculate the other dimensions.
By my reckoning, the american belt is 1664mm outside length, 1641mm pitch length and 1586mm inside. The Metric one is 1681mm outside, 1660mm pitch length and 1600mm inside length - the metric belt is also 27 degree angle rather than 26.
The original snow trac belt (at least the possibly stretched one I have) has an outside length of 1700mm so the metric belt is possibly a closer fit than the american one but either will do.
I will get hold of a metric one and see how it performs against the Gates 2926V646 and the original belt.
