I know jwstewar has a grease gun thread but I didn't want anyone to fly by if I started a review under his thread so..............

I'm in the market for a battery operated GG's. Who has one? Are you happy with it? Does it really help on glogged fittings? Is Lincoln's Powerluber (14.4v) worth it? There is a 18v on eBay that looks pretty ergonomic ........ GG

Figures I have damn near everything (and 2 of some......:D) Dewalt makes in 18v but guess what, they don't do grease guns............... :wtf:

Any input ya'll?

We've got a big air-powered greaser in our shop at work that takes fifteen-gallon drums of grease and that won't push through plugged zerks, so I highly doubt a battery-powered one would either. Best thing to do is take the zerk out and clean the hole of the accumulated gunk and grease more often which takes fewer pumps to keep the grease moving.

I sorta figured that one and thats what I do............ I was looking for the easy way...........:D. I had to do it on my tractor on the adjusting lowering arm the first time I greased it!

Thanks!

If you can't get the grease in under normal pressure, the grease that you would be forcing in under higher pressure will be hard caked and of no value for lubrication. That is why they limit the amount of pressure that can be put on the nipple. I know some equipment operators that use the Lincoln guns, but now, Lincoln makes a cheap look alike for homeowners that isn't as good as the original. I have seen them at swap meets for about $75. I also have seen some Chinese knock offs that were also very cheap. I just use the old fashioned hand gun for most things, and my drum air powered unit sits in the corner with 40 year old grease still in it.... Junk..
