Hi everyone... one more problem found on our cat... from Ivan the terrible.

Does anyone know a replacement for the Defroster unit on a 4T10?

So far no matches anywhere. It is a unit with fan & core together.

Pictures are inside view and fan side (front of engine)...

Good radiator shop should be able to repair it. If you have enough room on the fire wall you can get a different fan and mount it in front of a new core.

Good ideas - as soon as I can get it out I will bring it into town and see what I can come up with... unless of course someone has one sitting around and wants to part with it for very little... :whistling:

Shopman...I had the my 602 core rebuilt right here in Sheridan at a radiator shop...I think it ran about $220 bucks. Brand spankin' new core. That whole heater unit easily comes apart and while you are in there you can do an inspection of the fan motor and wiring. I know there are not many hours on the Pig but those cores must suffer from a fair amount of corrosion. The price of replacement/rebuild is well worth the headache of antifreeze dribbling down your right pant leg:brows:

Hey Shopman...I keep forgetting...I have a couple of nice shiny little metal plugs for your dash...you know...for the holes between your speedo and tach...I had to buy the damn things in a box of 50! So just spreadin' the luv man...let me know if you would like them:biggrin:

Shopman...one more thing...the defroster unit actually works pretty well as designed...I usually get plenty warm driving either the 602 or 4t10...maybe it is just the my excitement level:17875:

dlmorindds - thanks - great pics and inspiration - time to pull it out and get it fixed up. Sure, I'll take a couple plugs - my dash is coming together, slowly. :shifty:
