Well we just got a call from the States Attorneys office. Now this was in regards to being subpoena to appear as witness in the trial of one of our tenants here for both my wife and me. This would of put us in at a real hardship as we would of been required be there every day from Feb 27 at 8:30 AM to March 8th. That of course is the busiest time of the month for us as when most people vacate, rent and pay their rent. Well it seems he pleaded guilty to day as did his partner so the trial is canceled.
Back story is this kid (I call him a kid, early 20's) was a tenant of ours for several years. He always paid on time with cash so wasn't someone I paid a lot of attention to other than small talk when he paid his rent. Just minor chit chat as well as my wife. As far as we knew he was an exchange student from the Czech Republic going to the University of Kentucky. Not all that unusual until we had cops show up with a search warrant for his space, cut his lock and removed some items. Now we had no idea until today what it was they removed nor any real information on him.
It seems the removed a substantial amount of cocaine, guns and other items from his space then sealed it until the confiscated the rest of it. Come to find out his is charged with murder, kidnapping, trafficking a controlled substance, position of burglar tools, position of police radio, 3 counts of criminal conspiracy, intimidating a witness and tampering with physical evidence.
He is looking at life and if he gets out ever immediate deport ion.
