Solar Sector

Solar energy has been in use by the mankind since times immemorial. What makes the solar energy so magical? It’s nothing but its virtues. The sun’s energy is renewable and clean. The energy can be renewed and reused without the worry of it getting extinct. This is very much unlike the fossil fuels which are finite and may get extinct after a period of time. The solar energy does not contribute to environmental pollution like the fossil fuels which produce energy but emit dangerous gases along with it.

One of the greatest advantages of solar energy is that sunlight hours coincide with peak hours. Large scale solar energy generation can greatly reduce the peak load and can improve the air quality by generating electricity without pollution. It also helps by decreasing the demand for additional power plants to handle the peak demand.

With its promising prospects, the solar energy sector has seen a sudden rise in investments. The total installed capacity of photovoltaic cells in the year 2007 was 8.7 GW. In the same year, the solar cell production also increased by 50%. The drop in the cost of solar energy, since 1980, is another favorable feature of the solar energy sector. These positive happenings in the solar energy sector is indicative of a bright future ahead and is attracting investor attention in the form of huge solar energy investment.

Wow!!!

Jim do you happen to know how I could get in on this huge new opportunity? :D

wow solar is pretty cool..lol

oh here is my last project..lol

Original poster was banned for spamming and his links were removed but I left the thread open because Bam's project looked cool.

The log buildings look really great (I want some...), but solar energy leaves me cold - literally. I have solar energy panels on my roof, cost me a fortune and caused no end of grief and hassle and I am still not convinved they are working properly. The best source of solar energy is to sit in the field and be warmed by the sun!

Very nice work Bams. :thumb: Quite the outhouse you have there ...and like Erik said that picnic table is awesome!!!!!

Nice work Bams...and knowing how much BBQ food you go through i will say thanks for leaving the toilet seat down:yum::yum::yum:

then it wasnt installed properly or inferior parts were used...or they werent installed on the proper place on your roof....i am in a northern climate and we have had no problems with our installations..

that being said, i wish that was my "cabin"... we install solar systems as a side business

The firm that installed them are cr*p, and I wish I had never heard of them.

sorry to hear that...what country are you in if you dont mind me asking?

did their setup look similar to the one i posted? that sytem that i showed is the cabins only power source besides a small generator. which can be plugged into our system for those times when your batteries are low because of crappy weather but generally they have to be plugged very very rarely.

again i am sorry to hear of your crappy firm that installed them..we install them in Canada and USA

Nice wood work in those buildings Bam. The solar panel is adjustable for the time of year and angle of sun? that is very important from what I have been reading up on them. I might try a small scale solar as the wind systems have too long ROI for my age.

yes the panel is adjustable for the various times of the year
