Snowmobile Adventure In Colorado

mtntopper

Back On Track
We have been in Colorado visiting our daughter and her family since before Christmas. The weather broke and the sun came out yesterday with an early morning temperature of -17F in town. We started out at the ranch shop and snowmobiled 6 miles further up the mountain to the snowmobile trail system in the Sunlight Mtn area of the national forest. It was a cold sunny day with great scenery and awesome areas to snowmobile. We are a family of pretty hardcore, hard ridding have fun snowmobilers. The grandson with the yellow jacket is only 12 and does a great job. The daughter and her husband are very good riders with awesome abilities to snowmobile in extreme outback areas and do it safely.

WOW!!!!
Absolutely beautiful scenery and that looks like fantastic riding conditions.

I would say so, but can you explain the circumstances in the 4th pic (of the first post)? He and the sled look a bit buried.

I think he was trying to do what we call carving in the snow. You go in a tight circle until you are on the edge of the track and one ski only. It is very easy to fall off or just turn over on your side when doing this routine. He fell off and the snow is probably at least 3 foot deep there. He is a little bit height challenged like his mother and his grandfather. We were all stuck at least once in the snow yesterday. That is a necessity to call it a great snowmobile day....:snow2_smi: and it was an awesome day in the snow.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Great pictures ! Thanks.

Colorado is the only state I've been snowmobiling in; near Winter Park.
