looks like it needs tracks also big wheel indicates it's the un desirable big wheel model id apears to have some kind of grooming attachment on the rear other wise it looks like a great project depending on track condition should be worth about 5 g's if the tracks are good about 1 k if no tracks or tracks shot

I just read the comment from "DDS" that this machine was the undesirable BIG wheel model...why is that undesirable? I have an Aktiv ST-4B with a big wheel in the back and a big wheel in the front that has a double coil spring for tension.

Well it depends,

The big wheel models are better able to with stand a heavy handed operator who hits obsticals head on at high speed. They will take more abuse than the two band examples with twin boggies. However if the track tips, say into some deep wheel tracks, and the grouser bars and track tilt into those tracks the big wheel three band are more apt to come off than the older two band tack types. So it could be said that the big wheel models are less desirable in this situation. They will also not side hill and stay in the tracks as well, or so some say. This is hard on the much talller and somewhat weaker wheel guides. The wheel guides are much harder to come by, especially those at the lap joint of the belts. This is also true of the grouser bars, less durable and harder to come by I am told. My experiance is with the older two band type.

My experience is with all the models. 3 & 5 Belt machines Do de-track. Everything 300 H&H said is correct. Big Wheel models are 3 & 5 Belt Machines. In trying to eliminate the problems with the small tires they created a new problem. It was a good attempt.
