snowcat fog lights

I am restoring a SV 300, I am thinking about putting High power fog lights on it . I see most cats have them on the top. I know on land vechicals it is better to put them as low as you can. what are you guys thoughts? Thanks Clair

I have used HID KC 35 Watt lights on my rally car in large snow events and they were hood height, I would apply duct tape to the focal point to try to see through the snow.

On a thiokol 2100 I have three incandescent bulbs up above the cab and in heavy snow and blowing they seem to really be effective cutting through the snow. I think the angle of the light has a positive effect on seeing through it.

Would it be the same for Fog?
I dont know

my snow trac has lights on the fenders, and I added some on the roof. when drift busting the low mounted lights will get obscured by snow, the high mounted lights always work if you mount them over the roof fab up mounts to push them forward of the windshield or the reflections on the windshield will be annoying. my Thiokol has 2 sets some mounted below the windshield and some above the ones on top are just flood type work lights both seem to work well in this application. the horizontal beam fog lights need to be low to work, and I believe have no place on a cat as they would always be covered in snow.
