Snow trac variator belt adjustment help please

Mossstock

New member
Thanks to the kind help fron forum members I now have the variator assembled. Unfortunately I am unable to get the belt anywhere near tensioned, even with the two adjusting nuts ( on top and bottom adjusters) almost fully wound out to the end of the thread. Can anyone advise as to where I have gone wrong please?

Sincere thanks,

John

John, is it possible for you to post photos of your progress?

Perhaps someone can see in the pictures what you need adjust and can then offer advice on the fix you need to get your belt tight.

I'd also have to ask one simple question, are you sure you have the correct belt?

Thank you. I will take a couple of photos this afternoon and post them. The belt came with the Snow trac, so we assumed, possibly wrongly, that it was the right one. Will get back to you soon, sincere thanks for your help,

John

Take some measurements of the belt, see if there are any codes printed on the belt. When you post the photos also post the belt information.

New belts are available from GATES. Somewhere on this forum is a thread with the part number for Gates. Also look up the threads posted by forum member LYNDON> He is our resident Snow Trac expert.
