snow trac ST4 climbing high

Alp Trac

New member
Finally got one of my ST4's to a height of 2500 metres in the ski Resort in which I am based! Who says a snowtrac cannot climb, it was a good job the snow was pisted and hard though!

I now have a 2km circuit to play on courtesy of the local skidoo operator.

Not much compared to you guys in the States, but Europe is a bit smaller with tighter restrictions.

Hope you like the photos!

Great!. How many ponies missing at that altitude?:ermm:.
I think that machine was ahead of it's time. It could be re-introduced in todays market with only minor engine (heater) and cosmetic updates and voila!.

How many ponies missing at that altitude?
For every 1000 feet you climb above sea level, there is a reduction in air density of approximately 4.5 percent. hp loss = elevation x 0.03 x hp @ sea level / 1000

Yes I will admit that is a good looking unit, And the photos look great.
You are right, they could re-introduce the ST4 with a some updates and I think it would sell. :thumb:

Hi There,

We got up again, this time as a family with grandfather.

I think the standard motor has about 45 horse power so I guess we are running on a lot less, supercharger maybe...!

Note the sign in the second photo, we have to carefully traverse a snow airfield!

More photos soon whilst the snow lasts...

Great pics. Wish we had mountains in Indiana. We do have a sand dune that is called Mount Baldy, somehow I don't think that qualifies :whistling:
