Here's a couple of pics of the snow deflectors I made for my snow trac. After reading Lyndon's tales of snow buildup on the tracks followed by cracking of the front axle housing because deflectors were absent, I figured it was high time I put some on.
I had some polyethylene sheet stock laying around the shop, figured it would work ok. Seems just fine. Should the deflectors extend further back toward the rear tire? If so, I can add some rubber flaps. See all the snow stuck to the u/c? That's what happens when you take a snowcat from a nice warm shop and swim it through deep powder.
