we have one here that dosn't look that good the guy wants 18 k for gees for 18 k i would entertain selling mine and building another one

I was thinking the same. But I would miss the light weight for trailering .I really love hauling only 3000lbs.

Hey Guys.

Guys, do not be so suspicious.
Perhaps the finish, the painted purple colour is too expensive in the market.

Don we have to reconsider some thoughts, we must think that ours ST4, are definitely expensive units, because they have WHITE rims and black wheels.:yum::yum::yum::yum:

Regards Nikos

one day when i get around to it the rims will all be painted red and suspension items will be black with red paint below the cab white in the center section and a rich blue for the top until then the equipment enamal i used will have to work.

Mine is boasting a new coat of green this year. It was done with a paintbrush and mixed my own DOT green. It looks like it to!

There's been an ugly green one in the Chicago area for years now at $25K, and last I checked it's still there. Underside is still red as is the interior.:puking:

A very nice one is worth how much by the way???

Not so long ago one brought I think 15K right here. It needed only paint, and sold fast....

leadarrows,

If your old enough to remember, they made a very popular little matchbox toy of the Snow Trac back in the 60's and 70's....That is the main reason one is sitting in my back yard as I type this. South winds will do in our snow over the next several days, and it will just sit again. I don't run mine without snow. It's much easier on them, went there is. Foam filled tires (unavailable btw.) vibrate the machine on hard ground badly..

They are not very fast, cruise at 10-15 mph, noisy and the heater works too well unless it pretty cold out. But it takes a mile or two of running to get the cabin warm. Windshield is nearly always a problem to keep clear untill it warms up enough to thaw it out. Mine turned 50 years old this past year, and some times it feels this old too when you are around it.

I guess what I am trying to say is like that old song says, "she ain't pretty she just looks that way"...may apply, unless your a little bit nuts anyway....

Come by some time, and I would be glad to give you a ride, when there is snow anyway. You might change your mind about wanting one....Did I mention new parts are unavailable?

Boy that brings back memories... I had one of those. IIRC the tracks were white.

Yeah, ditto. The body of mine was reddish, about the color of 300H&H's as I recall, with green windows? Mine climbed all over my Grandma's carport... I might even have it around yet, but minus the tracks.

I played with mine at 6 years young,

It was my first Matchbox toy of all of them. I ran it up so many imaginary polar moutains the tracks wore off, along with most of the paint. The windows were tinted green, some thing I have been contemplating with the real one in the shop..I carried the toy in my pocket for what seemed like a very long time...

My mother kept it in a small box of toys that were deemed to be "favorites" and it's still around at their house.
