Snow Trac Iceland?

Has anyone seen a cab like this before on a Snow Trac? I like it. It's similar to the ones that were in the Antarctic except this windshield is flat. I found these pictures on Webshots and I believe the machine is in Iceland.

I think that is owned by one of our Icelandic members. We have a couple folks from Iceland who have posted here and while they don't participate often, I think that Snow Trac is operated by our member OSCARINN. If that is not the one he has posted, it is one that is very very similar to that unit. It has an extra wide cabin, and is/was used for search/rescue and remote access and repairs.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/showthread.php?t=2252

He also operated the Icelandic Snow Trac website. Parts of the site are in English. You may want to take a look at his site. The scenery from Iceland is amazing.

He has not posted here since early last year so I'm not sure if he is still active with Snow Tracs.

Sorry, I'm new here so should probably introduce myself. Right now I'm looking into in the future purchasing a Thiokol Spryte, and noticed this thread while researching the topic. To me, it looks like a cut down Toyota FJ45 cab top. Could be wrong though; thought I was once, but I was mistaken. Anyway, thanks for all of the great info and I hope to someday be joining your ranks. BTW, my name's Jim and as of right now I am stationed an hour east of Reno, NV with the Navy and Plan to someday retire to Spokane, WA; originally from Maine.

Hi Jim, welcome to the Forums. Lots of insanity here when it comes to playing with these snow toys. I hadn't thought of the FJ45 cab, but it sure does bear a striking resemblance to the Toyota so you might be on to something!

You could be right. They're similar. If not transposed than at least copied.
I too am still looking for my/a Snow Cat (Snow Trac). Welcome.
