Snow Cat Owners Wife

A commercial fisherman who lives in Washington buys 26 Acres on the side of a mountain. While fishing in the Gulf of Alaska his boat gets inspected by a Marine Biologist from the federal government. The fisherman Marries the Marine Biologist. They build a house on the mountainside acreage. It has this steep, mile and a half long driveway. This is in the Cascades, where they get alot of snow. He tries plowing the road with a one ton truck. But the snow is too deep. Some winters there was 10 feet of snow on his place. While fishing in alaska he locates and purchases a Snow Trac. It's not in very good condition, but he has it shippped to his place in Washington. After it sits around for a couple of years the wife puts her foot down and makes the following ultimatum: Either he fixes the Snow Trac by Thanksgiving, or they sell it. The fisherman makes repeated attempts to get in touch with me but I too work in Alaska. Finally, just weeks before the deadline, I fly back in to Washington and I get this call, he's desperate. So the fisherman and I work day and night for a week or so on the machine and manage to get it fixed. We actually worked on it right up to the day before Thanksgiving. The machine preforms nicely, the wife likes it, and thier little girl wants to drive it into town! But that's just the first half of the story.

Another party, a guy that sold gold and jewelery and owns a vinyard buys a Snow Trac to access his winter cabin. He ropes me into doing some repairs on it. His cabin is on Steven Pass, which happens to be where the fishermans house is. After I completed the repairs we sent the machine (ST4) to some local VW Guys for a Tune-up(Oval's Motor Sport). VW guys generally have a special place in their harts for Snow Trac's as they have a bunch of vintage VW stuff on them. Anyway the owner of the Snow Trac picks up his machine from Oval's(The name is a reference to Early vintage VW's that had a small, OVAL read window, Pre 1958), Loads it on his trailer and heads up to his cabin on Stevens Pass. Now it just so happens that there is an Expresso stand directly across the road from where the Fishermans mountain road accesses the Highway and the jewelery guy, with Snow Trac in tow stops to get a Latte. He spies the fishermans Snow Trac and wanders over to check it out. About this time the fishermans wife shows up and blurts out: "That's MY Snow Trac, and it's NOT for sale!" Almost a 360 degree turn around from her original "Fix it or Sell it!" Ultimatium. And now you know "The Rest of the Story".
