i would guess this one was leased to doyon as i slipped a peek at the shipping papers and it belongs to stg who is a big construction leasing compny also had a richie brothers tag on it so i can guess it was one of those advertised last winter.

here's a pic it has the 5 band track with the outer bands removed and different grousers looks like a good project for some one but i wuld expect track restoration would be expensive

Oh, I went to the wrong one that is for sale, this one is $4,000.00.

Has a 4cyl VW water cooled engine and looks fair.

Took photos, but can't post them with my iPhone. If someone wants to post them for me, I can email the photos to them to post.

IM me or email address to send them to, won't be by a real computer fir a couple of days!

Thanks for posting the photos!

The tracks looked to be in pretty good shape, paint looks weathered and the installed water cooles engine looks good. Did notice that the parking brake drums were gone, so stopping on hills may get dicey! Sprockets looked like very little wear and may have been new with the track!

Didn't like the way the air filter hung out into the "windstream" of where the snow gets kicked up at, but that could be retorted without a lot of effort!

But the price is good at $4,000.00 and they would consider trades for othe toys!

Nobody needed a used Snowtrac! I thought they were in big demand!

Bet if it was a Krusty Kritter, there would be even less interest in it! :yum:

Funny you ask.
I actually am interested in that machine. I have a pile of VW diesel and gas engines. Big and small (VR 6 and 1.8L turbos)

I am a school teacher and have just enough summer left to run and get it.

I however have two snocats (new to me) here that have about 12 minutes in snow.( my wife is awesome and understanding but...) three would break the acceptance policy.

I will own one of these (ST) before I shake the Snow cat bug..... but the time is not right and...

IT IS KILLING ME> I do my best to not look at the add. My turn will come.

Oh and I am sure I have something of interest to offer in trade. so the trailer would be loaded in both directions.

And a coworker is helping a uncle wire a Cabin (I am a electrician, I teach apprentices) in AK for the month of August.

I need a brick wall and a head banging into it Smilie

Well I drove by the lot today in Fairbanks, and didn't see it there. It may be sold or the owner just moved it to someplace else. Seems for the price, it was in pretty good condition except for a few easy items to take care of. The Guy was also pretty interested in trades verses just selling it.

You didn't HAVE to Put the photo with the Phone number right there.....

Thanks a bunch.!

It is 87 and humid and hell, I am going to cut the grass that (and the sun burn) should get my mind off of it.

Thanks again buddy

Well yesterday I was going to stop and take some more detailed photos and look it over closer, but it wasn't there so I assumed it was sold. It was in a pretty hi-vis spot.

Well I killed the entire day and did not call the 907 area code. lawn is cut. put another 100 or so miles on the IH SSII. and found a free IH 1310 pickup in PA.

I am not going to go after that ST. I think (know) another will come along.

I laughed all day (to myself) at how mad my wife would be if I went after a project that far away..... I have one more month off and that would have been a great way to kill it.

Using all my restaint.

Mike
