Hmm.. I like it. wider tracks and substitute some aluminum in place of steel plate, might get the weight down.

put another cab on the back facing the other way and yo.... wait, nevermind...Al already has one of those...

Eric

Edit: If you havent thought of it already, design a snowblower (not a plow) to mount on front and run off those hydro hookups... I would seriously love that!

Great machine Boggie! I've been a fan of ASV and have owned a '97 Posi-Track MD-70 for 10 years now. It's a great little machine. My wife even uses it for landscaping around our house - very easy and safe to operate.

The main use it gets around here though is blowing snow. I built the pictured 84" 2-stage blower for it several years back using a homebuilt CNC plasma cutting system. I use the high flow aux. hydraulics (~25gpm @ 2500psi) to drive the fan via a Permco box motor, and Parker roller-vane motor to direct-drive the auger using the low flow aux. circuit (~14 gpm @ 2500 psi). This thing moves a lot of snow! I did have to add an auxilliarly hydraulic oil cooler as use of the drive-, plus the 2 aux-pumps heats up 25 gallons of fluid pretty good in warmer temperatures.

I like Eric's idea of widening the track a bit and using a bit more aluminum. Then the thing is looking more like a snowcat! I thought I read that Bob said that one of the founders of ASV was an original importer of the Snow Trac for the US. Why not go back to your roots?:thumb:

O.K. what if we were to put some 32" wide tracks on this puppy using the same under carriage sliding them out so they are symetrical that would bring
our psi to right at 1psi and give it a 2.5" lug for snow travel. working on a design of this in my spare time right now. O.K. so it's more than just spare time if anybody is reading this that just bought a machine from us it will only add a small margin to your rebuild time..... honestly ........... well you could always blame BigAL since he has not been able to geat the yetti debuged yet but he is close.

Just curious, but what is your target market for this machine?

I've seen some import Yanmars that look similar to this but I've never been able to figure out what industry(s) they are used in. I'm guessing construction to haul materials over soft/muddy ground?

B Shurka, landscape and construction mostly but with a 4000 pound payload
well suited for many uses farm, ranch,we had a inquiry for mounting a small
exploration drill on the back Yesterday one the normally would be heli-hauled.

Seems like it would be an expensive tool for the landscape industry, at least the landscapers that I know. Can you put the those green turf tracks on that machine to let it roll over the lawn without tearing up landscaping? Can you put some sort of hitch on it and some remotes to power implements like a hydraulic tiller?

BTW, do those green turf tracks really work? Seems like you'd lose your traction on wet grass and might not be able to climb even a modest hill if the grass was wet???

B Shurka, Well the base unit is 24,995 and if you look at it from a productivity
stand point being to move a yard or more of material at one time with two operators transported also. that would require several trips with skid-steer.

There are hydraulic hook ups front and rear as a option 16gpm 3000psi you can do a fair bit with that gpm and pressure

The green tracks will do pretty well that is why the psi was left at 2.5 they are a special compound which comforms to the ground thus generating better grip

Well I got to admit that I would love to have one!!! We have an ASV dealership in town (Ronson) and I drive past it all the time looking at your equipment. I've never rented or operated an ASV track loader, but they look sweet and this Scout would sure be a lot more useful for work than something like a Kubota RTV.

B Shurka, I do not work for them,Just a consulting Engineer, we will be selling at one of my business's should we put your name on one?

Ha, my wife wants me to retire not do more. All I need is another toy like that to give me the incentive to tear up the property and put it back together differently.
