Size Matters

Here's a newbie question for you....

Just how big are Kristis and Snow Tracs? What are the overall dimentions (height, width, length) for a KT3 or a Snow Trac (Trac, not Master)? How much do they weigh?

The larger questions I'm trying to answer are along the lines of how hard will my poor little truck have to work to tow one of these things? Will it fit in my garage when I need to work on it? If I throw a sheet over it can I convince my wife it is really just a large riding lawnmower? I suspect most of you have already faced these issues, so hopefully you'll have the answers at your fingertips.

Thanks for your help.

Ron

My Snow Trac is 6'2" wide and just about 12' long. I think the weight is roughly 2500 pounds?

If you go to the brochures section of the Snow Trac forums, you will find a brochure that lists the factory specs. A standard truck can tow them. I've used a Mercury Mountaineer to tow mine as well as a Ford F150.

edit: here is the link to the spec sheet

Well my Kristi KT7 is about 8' wide and about 12'6" long . All four models KT2,KT3, KT4 and the KT7 are about the same I guess . Weight wise ,they run around 2500 pounds a piece depending on the options . Most can tow or pull about 1500 to 2000 pounds . This web site will give you just about every spec avalible on snow cats of all types .

As Bob has already pointed out a Snow Trac , Kristi and quite a few other smaller snowcats can be towed safely behind a 1/2 ton pickup .

Yeah, old thread, but I've been asked for this numbers several times in the last few weeks...

Kristi KT-3
11'Lx5'9"Hx7'4"w
2,095lbs empty
3,595lbs gross
.46PSI empty
5 passenger
20MPH
15-18hrs/20gal

Snow Master .36 psi

Typical Slow Master owner unsupportable exaggeration. From the Sow Master specification page at Safety One, Inc....

And, with Mikey at the helm, probably more like .42PSI on the right track and 2PSI on the left. :moon: :yum:

Funny I have not seen a ride on mower with tracks before - do you think she will believe you? What you gonna do - mow the snow?

I try to give my fair share of attention to things around here.....but I'll move on since there isn't anything to keep my attention here.

Ice Queen,
apparently you have it all wrong. It appears that Mrs American Women is concerned about size. Since the average male size statisticly is about 10" I can understand why.

Why is it that men are always so concerned about size???????????
See!!!!! I'm not the only one that looked! :yum:

All I wanted was little look :D
I don't know noth'in about no 10 inches....:liar:

Well we all know that men can't measure worth a damn - according to men, women can't park cars - this is because a space about 3" long they swear is 6". 10" - dream on!!!!!!!!!!

It's really only the first couple of inches that count anyways.:yum: ... It's not how deep you fish it's how you wiggle your worm.:yum:

As the moderator for the Snowcat Forums I have to point out that this discussion is WAAAAY of the topic.

But as long as we are off topic, why do we care what women think? Its all about our needs/desires anyway!!! :pat:

Well if a snowcat is your need and desire here then I will keep quiet about the deep fishers or wigglers....or what ever it was he was going on about( but it can be lonely with the needs all about one's self)
