Selling Thiokol Amphibious Model 1301

The Fire Department that I volunteer with came to possess a Thiokol Model 1301 Amphibious vehicle. We had big plans to use it for backcountry rescue or perhaps fighting wildfires. We've never used but have stored it for several years. I actually found a web page (I guess from the previous owner) but it is most certainly our Swamp Cat. http://www.specialengines.com/media/snowcat.htm

Anyway, I've been charged with the task of selling this unit. I've been trying to learn about the machine and what we might be willing to sell it for. I was hoping someone in this forum could help me with placing a value on this unit. Our department is trying to raise money for a new brush truck and the sale of this vehicle would go towards that. Is there a place where I can get a value for this thing? It runs great, looks great, and has a bunch of features that you can see on the web site. Added lights, radios, etc. Thanks in advance if anyone can point me in the right direction.

i know of some one looking for something like that pm me an e-mail address and i will pass it on for you also some pics representing what it looks like now would be helpfull to get it sold.

My email is browndogfudge@yahoo.com Thanks for passing it along. The link in my original post has a few pictures of the vehicle. I could go up to the firehouse and take some more if it would be helpful. I would love to hear some opinions on the value of this vehicle. We were offered a fair amount of money for the thing the same year that we got it. Some guy from Florida as I recall that wanted to use it to give tours in the Florida Everglades. We didn't take his offer because we really thought we were going to use it for backcountry rescue but that just never happened. Let me know if the photos at the web link aren't enough. I could certainly post some more.

Thanks again.

Neil

BDF- I'm watching this thread on the 1301 Swamp Spryte. I have same Thiokol S/N 42 that I have tried to use up at my mining property in SW Colorado....I'm thinking I may have to sell BALTO because it just is not powerful enough to push uphill at 10,500' in deep new snow.
Good luck with your sale
