I got a letter in the mail from my phone/ISP provider about my "security code." I was clueless about why I got this letter. However I went to their website like it said to do in the letter. I assumed that my user name would be my phone number and since I even had the security code, it was in the letter I put them in -NOTHING. Tried again and it gave me an example, yep my user name was my phone number but this time it wanted my e-mail address. I put that in and it couldn't find me. The website told me to contact customer support. I looked and saw a half a dozen support numbers so not knowing which to call I looked on the letter. I saw a phone number only on the Spanish part of that so called and finally got someone who spoke English. She was worthless and could not even tell me WHY I got this letter. So I lost my cool and hung up.
I tried it again nothing. I got a support number and called and while I was on hold for half an hour I tried everthing I could think of. I even got logged on only to get booted out again. I finally got someone and she couldn't tell me what the purpose of this letter was. She had me try this and that and made me a new user name and click here and there. I finally told her that nothing happened when I clicked on the link. It just froze up. Then she told me that I needed to restart my computer and try all this junk all over again. So by then I had had it I told her I wanted to talk to her supervisor and not to put me on hold. So the supervisor came on and told me that this letter is something that the government in it's infinite wisdom makes them do now. Like the moors might want to pay my phone bill or something. So she got me to tell her the security code and told me that I didn't have to go there and log in if I didn't want to. She also told me that if I wanted to log in to clear my cache and cookies.
I do kind of wonder that if this thing is so important what is there to stop the enemies of the state from stealing the letter from my mailbox?
