Rubber Track Tucker Grouser Differences

Looking at that auction cat and then my cat I realized there are three types of grousers I know of so far that exist. Not sure of aftermarket or Tucker but here are some pics and info.

3/16 seem to the the norm but I found one on my Tucker that I am always bending back that is only 1/8 (1st pic) Haven’t found another like it on the tracks. Looks just like all the others but thinner gauge.

Then you have the earlier ones that have a web leaving three bolts on each side exposed.

The newest version I believe have the widest web leaving two bolts exposed.

This 1/8 gauge one is flimsy always bending with my low use. Have plenty of the newer ones that came with the cat. Odd for sure.

You will also see the web on the newer ones is welded lower compared to higher and flush on the earlier ones. This either must allow for more wear down of the grouser or better penetration into hard pack or ice.

It looks like the ‘newer looking’ grouser could be a DIY or aftermarket and is only bent to 90 degrees.

Mine started out all of the same with 3 bolts showing. I believe there was an issue with the grousers breaking due to the unsupported sections over the inner and outer belts. As part of the factory maintenance I heard they offered the welded extension that left just 2 bolts exposed. The previous owner started to replace the belts and had problems with the bolts spinning and no way to get a wrench on them. The only option was to hack a hole with a torch to get to the bolt. I have since replaced the belting and had many more spinning fasteners but used a template and a plasma torch to cut out a tombstone hole to get the new bolt into the grouser.
