Its raining its pouring Muleman's probably snoring :yum::yum:

Finally raining good here in south central PA. Not sure how long it's been raining but when I took the dog out this morning the ground was squishy. Raining pretty steady with a heavy bit here and there. Pouring here at work :clap::clap::clap:

I'm down in St Louis now. We drove the length of the state through Illinois and there were places where the corn crop was visibly destroyed by the drought. Lots of brown stalks. Soybeans didn't seem to be as affected as the corn. But when you see a stalk of corn that is 1/3 to 1/2 brown then you know that field is doomed. We don't have that problem in NW Indiana. Our rainfall is a bit below normal, but we are not considered in drought conditions.

Hopefully the farmers in your area of Pennsylvania are in better shape than the central Illinois farmers.

Yep, we had that rain here all day yesterday. I saw on the radar that it was heading north east right towards you and muley. Rain continued here until this morning, quite heavy at times. Now it is more broken up. They are predicting scattered showers for us for the next few days. Intellicast radar shows rain in quite a few places on the national map with a big ole line of showers heading my way.

Looks like I won't use any gas on the boat today. Darn it.

Well there has not been a dang drop come down up here. I spoke with a buddy from Lewisburg,Pa. this morning and they were having good rain as well. It is getting critical up here if we don't soon get some. I just came in from watering trees we planted a few weeks ago. Things are not looking good for us. It is so dry the turkeys are dusting in the middle of my alfalfa field and sending dust clouds up in the air.

I would love some cloudy, drizzly weather. Sure beats 86 and mostly sunny with about 10-15 mph breeze. I am going to have to water everything tonight again. Where the ground is not too hard and you dig or pull weeds it is just powder on the roots. I cleared around a vine and flowerbed and you could start to see the stress on trees and raspberries.

Everything here in St Louis is stressed.
My 40 year old Holly tree dropped half of it's leaves yesterday. This even though I have left the hose running on it twice in the last weeks.

I have more leaves on the ground in my back yard than when fall comes.

Several local towns have banned watering, carwashing etc.

One, Warrenton, has two of it's four wells shut down as they collapsed.

I keep a mister going over the waterfall, mostly for the animals . The pond is dry so I cannot run the pump. If I don't the squirrels will chew off all the branches on our maples and oaks.

Rain coming in tonite predicted @ 50%. Which is another way of saying either it will or it won't.

We have had 3 weeks of hundred degree temperatures and no precipitation. Some of my trees have dropping lease, but it has been raining a good steady ground soaking rain for the past couple of hours. We need more.

ITS RAINING IN NASHVILLE.

On the way here from St Louis we drove through the southern tip of Illinois and there were fields where the corn was BROWN.

Get ready to start paying extra for anything that uses corn sweetner because this years corn crop is going to be bad.

If it was not for this hot muggy weather I would be buying feed ahead of the price increases that are bound to come. Not a drop for us and looks like it is following the same path as yesterday.:hammer:

Should help gas prices blow up. Still nothing else since this morning, but the soaker sure helped. Kept the temps pretty good though, which I will enjoy because its gonna get hot again with the coming week.

next week is to be more of the same. Tuesday is supposed to be real miserable with a high of 94.

Holy crap! I bitched cause it has jumped 20 cents to $3.49 up here. Diesel went up 25 cents to $3.94

It makes no sense that the price jumped 20 cents when crude is down to $87 a barrel. I need to stick my diesel tank and call for pricing.
