Roughwoods

Today is the Memorial for Larry Coy know here as "Roughwoods". His wife is having a dinner for him at their Restaurant with his favorite dishes. His ashes are going to be spread out over the Kantishna River area where they had a homestead and he loved to spend time at.

I made the following photo up for him that I took some five or six years ago as he was walking up from the Lake to my cabin in the Wilderness. The inset was when we were resting from a long snowmachine ride in late spring when the temps were mild and I got a candid shot of him while we were chatting with our helmets off. Never occurred to me that they would be used to celebrate his life.

Anyway, just a quick note to give him his last dues!

He was a good friend and I enjoyed his chatter and good humor which I miss dearly! Hard to replace someone to be on the trail with and he is missed greatly by his family and friends! I have lots of "Friends" in life, but only a few dear friends, Larry was one of them and anyone would be so lucky to have a guy like Larry for a friend.

Well I figure I will see him again on trails elsewhere else in time, he said he would make big campfires to let me know where he made camp!

At the time we were joking, but not nearly as funny now!

Thanks guys!

Good folks will never really leave us. They just get a head start on the big trail. Good of you to see him off.:flowers:

The memorial dinner went pretty well, there was a lot of folks there that I hadn't seen in sometime, so it was good to reconnect with many of them!

I think his family got some closure from it as well as myself!
