Gone But Not Forgotten
This has been the week from hell. Last Friday I was loading round bales in the barn when the wife came up to me crying and holding my favorite cat in a towel. She had been killed by the long haired Jack Russel after being together for almost 3 years. The shepherd pup was playing with the cat and the jack was jealous. She had done this before. So I took a break and buried the cat and penned the Jack in the kennel for a few days. Then yesterday morning the bear came to visit and tore down a feeder the wife had put sunflower hearts in. Went around to the other side of kennel and the jack got into it with him. They ripped the chain link up enough the jack got out and took on the bear and lost. By this time I was outside firing off my 9mm and the bear hauled ass. The poor dog was tore up too bad so I had to shoot her and bury her next to the cat. Went behind the barn and truck had a flat tire. Turns out a rock had bruised the tire so had to buy another. Then wife left the lights on or something and killed the battery stone dead in the suburban. While we were at Niagara Falls yesterday the African Grey parrot broke the tip of his beak off and bled pretty good. Most likely did it on an ice cube I gave him while fixing my mug for the trip. he has been eating ice cubes for 20 years same as me. He seems fine today and I have been told don't give him any more. Hope things go a little better as I need to hook up the lowboy to the dump truck and haul bales from the lower fields up to the barn. Too warm for that right now.
