I sincerely hope that the upcoming debate organizers start narrowing the field.

We should just face the facts and dump the obvious non-players, including Santori, Bachmann, Huntsman and Paul. That way the American people can hear the likely candidates debate with more than a two hour program of one minute sound bites; really talk to the issues.

Put Romney, Gingrich and Perry or Cain (if one of them survives the moment) on stage in meaningful, open debate.

It's time to move on. In my view, only Romney or Gingrich stand a chance debating the master prevaricator, Barack Obama.

PG: I think Perry destroyed what was left of his campaign. Sad, he has some good ideas. Not sure he'd make a decent president, but it is great to see a mainstream candidate advocate ELIMINATING whole departments. Bob Dole did the same thing when he was challenging Bush in the primary a couple decades ago. We need more candidates to seriously embrace shrinking government, not by scaling back or re-shaping, but by eliminating some departments.
