I cannot go along with everything he said in the article, but he did make some valid points.

"I'd say this was probably the weakest case people brought against him," Kennedy said. "My belief is that it will end up helping President Trump among a large part of [the] American public who believes that the judicial system, the enforcement system, have been weaponized against [him] politically. That's bad for our country.

He went on: "And I think it's a mistake for the Democratic Party. I think the Democratic Party believes it has a candidate that can't beat President Trump and that they need to do it in the court, and I think that's bad for our country, I think it's bad for democracy, and I think it's politically going to backfire on them.

I'd say he is pretty spot on...

At least from the perspective of a constitutionalist libertarian. But I will say that most Democrats I know believe him guilty because the jury said so. Most also didn't really follow the trial. Actually saw a statistic somewhere that only 16% of the US population followed any part of the trial. So clearly it didn't have a lot of impact on people while it was going on. I think that now, it has become a focal point to rally the silent masses.

I have seen quite a few reports of people who previously voted Biden and or NOT Trump but are now planning to vote for him. So it probably is going to have some net positive effect. I'll be watching the campaign, watching the polling data, just curious to see how this is used.

I think Trump needs to focus on the ISSUES and also the weaponization of the government. That second point is bigger than the weaponization of the Dept of Justice and much bigger than the verdict against him. But he can use the verdict to prove weaponization and then expand it to the IRS, the ATF, etc etc etc. And if he focuses on issues like border security, crime in the cities, inflation, manufacturing, energy security and energy prices then he can glide in with a massive victory.

I believe this isn't about Donald Trump. This is about breaking the nation's system of law enforcement and equality of justice.
It is the very backbone of the nation's success as a country with a true free population.

Trump is the target because he is currently the one who represents what that means.
