Replacement battery for a Chevy Volt. (hope you are sitting down)

Take the $29,842.00 and buy a "FORD" Maverick

Leave the 15 cents on the Chevy Service counter as a payment for your education.

Yep, if you can find one. Awesome truck for those who do not believe in spending big dollars on vehicles. I am currently on month #3 of my Maverick order with no end in sight. So called supply chain issues, Ford incompetence, delivery times measured in months, not days or weeks, dealer allocations which they refuse to share with the paying customer all add up to a long wait. LOL.

Oh, and did I say the dealer will not return my phone calls? :lmao:

We were told back in 2018 that the Volt battery would cost about $3500 to replace. That was objectionable then.

This 2022 revelation is reVOLTting.

However, replacement can range from $3500 to $35,000 according to this link.

Still prohibitive.

Take care of the IC engine/tranny system it will last 300K miles or more. Engine replacement $3500 to $5,000 depending. Take care of the EV system, age degradation will kill the battery at 100K miles tops. No matter what maintenance you do.

This will kill any general public enthusiasm for EV's.

Government? They will use tax revenues to incentivize more silliness.

Was looking up batteries for a project I'm working on and came across this. And I remembered this thread. Curious if the price has dropped this much? Or if this was highly inflated for the wow factor.

Lol guys come on. I'm debunking the $26,000 battery. That was my only point. Yes, I know the volt is a piece of crap.

So the invoice was fake?

I'll call a Chevy dealership tomorrow and ask the price of a new volt battery.
