I'm wondering ... did you or someone you know get regifted this year, or did you regift?
I didn't but my brother gave a gift to my mom that I'm suspious of. It sure seemed like it was regifted.
 
On Christmas eve we have a party at my aunt's house. There is a 'joke gift exchange' where you pick a number out of a box, then take turns opening a gift, or you can choose to 'steal' a gift from someone else, but then someone else, when they get their turn can 'steal' from you. Its sort of stupid silly and there is a toilet seat that gets passed around from year to year. Some of the gifts are obviously 're-gifted' some are joke gifts, and just to spice it up, some are actually useful.
 
OK, I'll admit it.
My son got a chainsaw that was actually given to him last year for Christmas. Last year he got a couple of them so we stashed one and set it aside for this Christmas.
 
My wife got a box of stationary this year from one of her sisters. Funny thing is that she gave it to one of her sisters several years ago. Really funny thing is that it didn't come from the sister she orginally gave it to.

She should hang onto it until next year and give it to the sister she originally gave it to!!!
 
Hmm, I got a GE under the cabinet clock radio from my sister (who lives out of town and I only see on holidays) that I gave her for Christmas two years ago. It still has part of the Target price tag on it that I scratched off when I bought it to start with. :o

Should I give it back to her next year for Christmas? :coolshade

I never made the connection that your son was in the toys phase. I thought you were referring to real adult chainsaws. :thumb:

Yea... when he opened it he was a bit disappointed. He actually wanted a real one (and a circular saw as well) :eek: He's only 4 so he's going to have to wait awhile before he gets the real thing.
 
My wife says that according to "Oprah" (and I'm sure y'all just missed that show) you are supposed to give unwanted gifts to charity and never re-gift them. Of course, if I had Oprah's money I'd do that too.

I'm really ashamed that y'all haven't been watching Oprah religiously!:yum:

Whe do Chinese christmas at my wifes bosses every year. I got a George Foreman grill last year that had showed up twice before. Someone got that George Foreman again this year..........:D
 
Well on a semi-serious note, we are having a party in a couple weeks to gather 'gifts' that will be sold in a charity auction in February. We actually decided to hold the party after Christmas in hopes of getting both a greater turnout of people (more people = more gifts), and in hopes of getting things that might otherwise be re-gifted (because now they have something to donate and it doesn't actually cost them anything).

Many re-gifted items are perfectly good items, but just not wanted by the people who recieve them. Take BigDog's George Foreman's grill. A few million of those are sold to people who actually want them. I'm not one of those people, but it is a good thing to sell at a charity auction because it is likely that out of a couple hundred people in the room, several of them will want one of those.
