Random ?? - Western Area Power Administration?

Anyone on here work there (Colorado)?

Looking for a new job, WAPA has a position that's interesting to me, but reading up on the company, they might have SNOWCATS;).

Random curiosity, maybe someone can lend insight - super unlikely, but how cool would it be to get a job driving a cat? Pretty-to-very unlikely for me; my skillset does not really apply once at a location (and hydro plants probably are not very far up, so maybe no cats anyway...), but who knows, maybe I could tag along.

Thanks!

I would think their cats would be used for line maintenance and outage problems. Not too likely to have them at a plant along a river.

POWERLINES!!!

Duh.

I'm a computer guy, not a power-company guy. I'm pretty-to-very mechanical, for a non-pro, but I've not got any experience doing powerline/hydro-electric/anything maintenance/testing/repair, but let me tell you, I'm enthusiastic;).

Realistically speaking, the job I'm after is a good fit and will have exactly zero hours in a cat, or truck, or anything out on the lines, but whatever, even if I get to rub elbows with the top-gun catguys who do the fun stuff, I'll be happy.

Sounds like a cool place to work, cats or not. Fingers crossed.

Well those powerlines do tend to go over mountains which do get snow on them!:yum: The easy way to get men and gear up there is with a cat. Good luck on the job!
