A Radio Shack much like I used to work in on ship.

This recently restored Radio Shack anoard the Joseph P Kennedy DD-850 museum ship takes me back to my own 1970s vintage Radio Rooms aboard Henry B Wilson DDG-7 and Dahlgren DDG-43 .

Is that a museum piece now? Back in the day, it was absolutely taboo to take pics like this. We couldn't take pics of any electronics, the flight line or anything else that could be considered classified or strategic.

We didn't have radio "rooms" like that as my work was on aircraft. My MOS was communications and navigation systems.

I got pulled out of my MOS on the flight line and got assigned the duty of maintaining and controlling all the "secret" stuff for our entire air group. I lived in a vault and controlled all the classified documents as well as all the crypto codes and hardware for 5-6 Marine air squadrons.

I thought it was the store coming back to life and I hoped Laffett Electronics would be next i built many of their kits as school projects one was a tube tester (I'm showing my age here)
