Kennedy VP Shanahan: Campaign mulling withdrawal, Trump endorsement

"Or we walk away right now and join forces with with Donald Trump and explain to our base why we're making this decision," she said.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has stated that the campaign is exploring a potential withdrawal from the race in favor of endorsing former President Donald Trump.
“There’s two options that we're looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency because we draw more votes from Trump," she said. "Or we walk away right now and join forces with with Donald Trump and explain to our base why we're making this decision.”
Shanahan made the remarks during an appearance on Impact Theory.
Reports emerged this month that Kennedy had approached the Harris campaign about endorsing her in exchange for a cabinet position, which the Kennedy campaign denied. Kennedy previously met with Trump in the wake of an assassination attempt against him and video footage leaked of an exchange in which Trump appeared to signal openness to working with Kennedy in some capacity. . . .

RFK Jr Campaign Mulling "Joining Forces With Trump" Because We 'Run The Risk Of Enabling A Harris/Walz Presidency'

Just days after refuting reports that RFK Jr approached Harris for a cabinet position, his running mate, Nicole Shanahan just dropped a bombshell during a podcast that could change the race considerably.
Appearing on the 'Impact Theory' podcast (that was filmed yesterday), Shanahan said they are debating whether to stay in the race or drop out and join forces with Trump:
There’s two options that we're looking at...
...and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency because we draw more votes from Trump.
Or we walk away right now and join forces with with Donald Trump and explain to our base why we're making this decision.”

That might be a plus for Trump. Maybe it brings in more votes yes, but more importantly, it broadens the political base to include some left sided conservatives who, abandoned by the Democrats, admittedly have nowhere to go.

Kennedy could do it "for the good of the country" LOL

Yup

Kennedy and Shanahan (his VP choice) have been speaking with libertarian Ron Paul, they have done multiple podcasts together, and notably Ron Paul is a former, very popular, US Congressman from Texas. His son, Rand Paul, is a current US Senator from Kentucky and who has worked very closely with Donald Trump's prior administration and endorses his current run.

While I think Shanahan is a far left Democrat, she is not a Harris/Biden/Sanders socialist. And while I think Kennedy is a throwback Democrat, I'll admit that throwback Democrats are not socialists. So there is some crossover on some economic and political issues with a future Trump administration.

Here is part of an article from leftist leaning THE HILL:

RFK Jr. running mate Shanahan: Decision on joining forces with Trump not ‘easy’

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate gave new insight into the precarious position their long-shot bid for the White House faces just three months out from the election, saying in an interview that deciding whether to stay in the race isn’t easy.
“We don’t want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot,” political newcomer Nicole Shanahan, 38, said in an Impact Theory podcast interview released Tuesday.
Kennedy’s campaign has been dubbed a potential spoiler in the November election, as his name on the ballot could pull votes from both Democrats and Republicans.
. . .
Shanahan strongly implied the Kennedy campaign could come to an end soon in order to team up with Trump.
“We are taking a very serious look at making sure that the people that have corrupted our fair and free democracy do not end up in office in November,” she said.
“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in: forming [a new political party], but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Harris running mate Tim] Walz presidency, because we draw votes from Trump. . . . STORY CONTINUES AT LINK ABOVE

And farther left POLITCO, which pretents, badly, to be close to centrist, presents this story, which I quote in part:

RFK’s running mate suggests they can’t win in November

“They have, unfortunately, turned us into a spoiler,” she said.

The Washington Post reported last week that Kennedy has also tried to get in contact with Harris’ campaign to negotiate his involvement in a potential Harris administration. But no meeting was ever set.
“After a hit piece nearly every day for months, after rigged primaries, rigged debates, rigged ballot access, rigged polling, Bobby is still front and center as a potential spoiler, a potential kingmaker, as the candidate who might force a contingent election or a wild card candidate who might just emerge as a centrist, common sense alternative candidate who comes out of nowhere and wins the whole thing,” Tony Lyons, co-founder of the super PAC backing Kennedy, said in a text message.
But the DNC and other groups organizing against third party candidates quickly jumped on Shanahan’s candid view of the race.
“Nicole Shanahan isn’t even pretending to be a serious VP candidate anymore,” Lis Smith, DNC communications adviser, said. “From the beginning of this race, we’ve said that RFK Jr. is nothing more than a spoiler for Donald Trump, and we’re glad that his running mate is finally admitting it.”

I disagree with Kennedy on most things, but I also think he has been mistreated by the Dems. Whatever you think of him, he is NOT a big party, machine politician. He actually thinks for himself, and that is what he has most in common with Trump.

The Dems have done this to themselves by alienating Kennedy, denying him SS protection, denying him a chance to debate, etc. because he's unwilling to be their puppet. So how hilariously fitting would it be if RFK Jr. joining forces with Trump secures Trump's election?

Ditto

Honestly the Dems seem like my 4 year old foster son regarding the 2024 election.

I WANT IT NOW. MY WAY. NOW. GIVE IT TO ME. MY WAY.

They seem to have no rational thought other than to totally dominate and destroy anyone and everyone they disagree with.

I will give them credit for their willingness to employ the strategy of incrementalism on many social issues. Just nibble away. Little bites. Baby steps. Normalize crazy one tiny step at a time. Over a decade the entire world is changed. But nobody notices it change because the changes are small. Just a little here, a little there. Gradually.

Yep, I've noticed that for decades now. They push the boundaries, then once a large enough portion of the populace has accepted those new boundaries, they push them further. To be a Dem means you have no hard principles, because you'll just have to compromise them later.

As an example, in 2008 Obama was against gay marriage. Now, of course, he's for it, and if you ask him today, I'm sure he'd say he's for transgender "rights," and for the acceptance of hundreds of "genders." But back in 2008, he, and almost everyone, would have called biological men identifying as women as completely insane.

Next will be the acceptance of pedophilia, bestiality, incest, etc. Sounds insane, but the left will get there, and if people don't go along with it, they'll be called every "ism" they can come up with. To be a Dem means you keep getting pulled to the left, forever, into a black hole of crazy.

Donald Trump, asked by reporter, if he would consider giving Bobby Kennedy a cabinet position. . .

Trump open to giving RFK Jr. Cabinet position in move that could neutralize third-party threat to GOP

Brady KnoxAugust 20, 2024 9:09 pm
Former President Donald Trump said he would “certainly” consider giving independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a position in his administration in return for an endorsement.
In an interview with CNN’s Kristen Holmes, Trump was asked about recent comments from Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, which appeared to take him off guard.
“Well, we haven’t, but I’d love that endorsement,” he responded when asked whether he had considered Kennedy for a role in his administration.
“You’re asking me a very unusual question. I haven’t been asked that question yet,” Trump said, smiling when pressed on the question. “I like him. I respect him a lot. I probably would if something like that were to happen. He’s a very different kind of guy — a very smart guy. And, yeah, I would be honored by that endorsement, certainly.”
“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” the former president added. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”

And the story just continues.

RFK Jr will have a presser on Friday. He has not been holding events because his campaign is pretty much out of money.

Will he stay in the race?

Will he bow out and endorse Trump?

Trump Endorsement? RFK Jr To "Address The Nation" Friday Morning

Amid a flurry of speculation that he will endorse Donald Trump (following news reports - which he since denied - that he failed to clinch a cabinet job with Kamala Harris in exchange for his endorsement there), Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said he will make a speech in Phoenix on Friday, his campaign announced, as the independent presidential candidate considers whether to drop out of the race and endorse former President Donald Trump.
The campaign said Kennedy will “address the nation” Friday morning, without sharing details of what he will be speaking about.
Kennedy’s speech will come days after his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, said in a podcast interview on Tuesday that the campaign is considering whether to “join forces” with Trump to prevent the “risk” of Vice President Kamala Harris winning the election.
Overnight, in an interview Trump said that he would certainly consider a cabinet position for RFK Jr in exchange for an endorsement. "I would love that endorsement because I've always liked him" Trump said. Then when asked if he would also consider adding him to the administration, Trump responded that "I like him a lot I respect him a lot uh I probably would if something like that would happen... He's very different kind of a guy, very smart guy, and yeah I would be honored by that endorsement certainly."

He will speak at 2:00 PM on Friday in Phoenix, AZ. Trump is holding a rally same day, same city at 4:00 PM.

Will we see the two together at the rally? Now that would be amazing.
I'm hoping they do come together and join forces so to speak. It would help to broaden the base of support for Trump, and you can bet the Dems will be crapping their collective pants over it.

It would be a political coup for Trump and conservatives alike.
The few conservative democrats would have a reason to consider the Trump Ticket with RFK on board.

Teusi Gabbard has done so without much of a notable following. But she broke the ice. RFK could widen t the rift and get a lot more dissatisfied Democrats reasonable cover to bolt the radical left of which the Democratic party has become.

He's withdrawn from the Arizona ballot.
I'm assuming he's still addressing the nation at 2pm.

PHOENIX —
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the ballot in Arizona late Thursday, a day before he and Donald Trump were set to appear miles apart in the Phoenix area as speculation grows that Kennedy could drop his independent presidential bid and endorse the Republican nominee.

Kennedy is scheduled to speak in Phoenix at 11 p.m. Pacific time “about the present historical moment and his path forward,” according to his campaign. Hours later, Trump will hold a rally in neighboring Glendale.

Trump, campaigning Thursday in southern Arizona at the U.S.-Mexico border, said that “no plans have been made” for Kennedy to appear with him Friday. But he noted they would be in the Phoenix area at the same time.

He is officially throwing his support to Trump.

He is leaving his name on the ballot in "reliably red and blue" states. But he is withdrawing his name from the ballot in "swing" states like Arizona and Pennsylvania.

From the technical standpoint, is remains in the contest, but that is more a legalese issue. He has endorsed Trump. He criticized both Harris and the Democratic Party.

If Kennedy's endorsement of Trump ends up being the deciding factor in the election, the man deserves a cabinet post, regardless.
Or a position like Secretary of Education.
Possibly Dept. of Health.
Trump wants Bobby to take on big Pharma and the Food industry for the crap they put in our food supply.

Wah-hoooo!

Been following this from the beginning, listened to his speech driving home from a business trip, it was scathing. When Biden bailed, I posted on social media a few weeks ago, if the Democrats wanted to keep the WH, they’d pick up Kennedy. I’m glad they kicked him one more time. They have crossed the redline, they have pushed their arrogance too far. Hopefully this is the moment people take the slap to the head they’ve needed since Obama. Let’s hope Democrats go up in flames like the “peaceful” protest they enabled!
