Anyone familar with Clarimont Moutian in Quincy Ca. OD Walker scared the #$% out of me running me up to the top one day to work on the CATV gear there. He had quite a few great pictures and stories. He used to break trial for the UPRR. they shared the site at the top with the forest service.

I'm not... but I would love to see some pictures. :) just looking at google earth it looks like my kind of place. :)

Iam not sure but I ran a bulldozer on several fires near Quincy for about a month this past summer and there is some very steep country around there, add snow wow

I will see if I can find the pictures. Google earth should show the tower site. About 1988 or so, some tree huggers stole a brand new forrest service pickup and drove up to the tower site. The got into the cable TV equipment and took an axe to it. The railroad tower was three wooden poles and they notched each pole. They then cut trees down behind them all the way back to the main road. For their last trick they pulled the oil cork ont he trcuk and left it running in the middle of the road.

The terrain is very stepp int he areas. I was living in Clear creek nesar dyer mountain for a few years. actaully we had a old snow cat when I left the areas. Never used jsut was tld when I do to put the pipes on to heat the tracks if I parked it for more thna a few minutes as they would freeze up. I do have pictures of it I will look for.
