PTO Chipper

Some time ago I read all I could on the other site about pto chippers. Of all the possible implements I could get for my tractor, I would probably use a chipper more than anything else. Does anyone here own one that would work with my 24 hp Kubota?

My 2 cents doesn't work in your area...

A chipper is a great way to spend 10,000 times more than burning it.

BTW, I had a chipper. It's only 1 step above just burying it but 100 times harder.

Oh, sorry, I have nothing nice to say about them...

Unfortunately, burning is not an option in my area, it is illegal, and I am one of the people that have to enforce the law. Carrying the branches into the woods is a pain in the a$$ and just creates a mess to be dealt with at a later date. The rental is $150 for a half day, which is OK but with almost 9 acres the stuff piles up quickly.

I have a chipper, but it is not a 3pt PTO driven type. It runs off its own gas engine. I think I would prefer PTO type chipper because mine is a 'belt drive' and occasionally jams and burns the belt. A direct drive unit would be less prone to jamming and would have more capacity.

I thought a chipper would be great, but I have so many Hawthorn trees with big nasty thorns on them that are a huge PITA to chip that I generally burn. My other option was to cart many of the branches to the property across the road and dump them, but as my new neighbors are about done building their new home, that option is no longer available to me.
