Hi Guys and Gals,
we had a visitor this weekend. My wife opened the door and proceeded to slam it shut. She says theres a stick bug or something on the door. I open the door and here is this Praying Mantis!. I have seen a few but only about an inch long. This is a "Whopper" for us around here. I would say he is about 3" long not including his 2" long front arms! Anyway here are some pictures. I will let him go in the morning after we feed him a grass hopper. My kids will get a kick out of that.:yum:

Nice Pics......About two weeks ago there was one about 5" long hanging around the our front door. I watched it for several days always in a new place but always around the front door. One day he was gone. must of had his fill.
 
I've seen a few already this year. I was wondering what they eat and hadn't bothered to look it up. I'll feed the next one a grasshopper!
 
We couldnt find a grasshopper so we just let it go in my little girls garden. Last we saw it it was on top of the lettuce plant we let it go on.
 
Looks like praying for your Slow Trac to work wasn't working so you called in reinforcements! :yum:
