That is an unbelievable amount of rain in that short of time. Makes our floods look small scale. Lot of folks washed away in the path of the rivers.
 
Yep, I saw a news clip on this. I spent a good biit of time over there. I can only imagine the devastation. And Manila was one of the hardest hit locations and it is one of their biggest cities. What a mess it's got to be. What a shame.

I had to go look up the stats on Manila .......11 million people in Manila!!! :eek: And 80 inches of rainfall per year. WOW!

about 4 years back we got 14" in 5.5 hours, so I have an idea of what they went through - fortunately, I live in a rural area, so the water had places to go and we didn't get a repeat -- but it's amazing what kind of damage "just a little rain" can do!
