We just got word this week that my sister in law's older brother was shot at for the third time over in afghanistan. He's on his third tour over there serving as a master sniper for the Canadian military. We don't know too many details but his group is part of the formation doing a sweep through the caves looking for rebels. The first time he was shot at, he apparently heard the bullet fly by his head. The same thing for the second and third times.

For my SIL's sake, I hope and pray he makes it out alright as he's almost done his third tour and that's it for him over there. He's had a few close calls himself with some of his fellow soldiers being injured or killed along the way.

I will include him and all soldiers , the things we grumble about as we go about our tasks seem so small if we think of our military men and women..
Good reminder Groomer Dude.

I sincerely hope he returns unharmed.

Thats kinda the problem. As we go about our daily lives and handle the very real problems that occur in our lives, we forget that there are some of us who are fighting for their lives every day. I hope he stays O.K. over there.

Well said norscaner! :thumb:
You got it Brian. Be sure to let us know when he does get home.
And thanks to him and all his unit for his service and help in the war on terror.

Brian - I'm completely there with you.
I found out this week one of my cousins is over in the sandbox right now.

Yes, he is in our prayers as well. And again, please tell him "THANK YOU" for fighting for us.
I also have a nephew that's just been sent over there about a month ago.

Will be thinking of all the soldiers and especially for your sister in lawn and her brother.

Haven't heard anything new on his status. He doesn't have much longer on his tour. From what we've heard, he's been training his replacement and filling them in on the progress made so far then he'll be coming back for retraining. He's had a few close calls over there being shot at and all. Thanks everyone for the prayers and concern. Just remember all of the troops out there fighting for our freedom in your prayers.

I pray that his aim is true and gets the bastards that brought us 9/11, and then comes home safe after a job well done as well as his comrades in arms.:flowers:

Well, apparently the last towel head that shot at him and missed didn't fair so well. He's a master sniper. He fired back and hit his target.

Excellant, i love a happy ending.....Seriously i'll keep him in my prayers. My youngest was in Irag last year and luckily he made it home safe. He was a driver of one of those humvies or something like that. He said he was last in the line going on patrol one night and his alternator went out. He had to sit in the next town till morning till it could get fixed. The vehicle that took his place got hit with mortor that night. It would have been him if he hadn't broke down. Always keep these young men and women in our prayers. i am so proud of these young people today laying their lives on the line. They all deserve special treatment when they get home.

Our troops deserve our prayers and respect. Without them we could not enjoy the life we have and the ability to complain about the little things that upset us. My nephew ships out on the 12th for Afghanistan. He is a ranger and has been through Somolia,Haiti and a lot of other bad scenes. I am glad my boys are both out of the service. My nephew is pretty sharp but has been a recruiter for the past three years. He will be leading a team for at least a 6 month tour. I pray for all our troops safe return.

I guess as long as you hear the shot fired at you, you're in good shape!
Glad he sent the dude to meet his virgins, prayers from here.
